NIKKI YARNELL, L.M.T.

BIO

Nikki Yarnell is a devoted massage therapist who has worked with several celebrities and high profile clients in a luxury spa setting, critical patients in hospitals, and professional athletes at sporting events. Her early fascination with massage developed one summer at sleep-away camp after a severely sprained ankle had her on crutches and in consistent pain for most of the summer. Once Nikki experimented with successful self-massage techniques, she earned a camp-wide reputation for healing and has provided frequent massages for her friends ever since. Her ultimate recovery from the injury, however, came many years later from a few sessions with a talented massage therapist right after several unsuccessful physical therapy trials and right before resigning to invasive surgery.

A graduate of the Swedish Institute, the oldest and most acclaimed massage therapy training program in the country, Nikki is officially licensed to practice massage therapy in New York state. Upon receiving her Associates Degree in Occupational Studies from the Swedish Institute, Nikki became a member of the American Massage Therapy Association; a professional organization whose mission is to "serve A.M.T.A. members while advancing the art, science and practice of massage therapy."

Her time at the Swedish Institute combined with her earlier education at New York's prestigious Rye Country Day School as well as her Bachelors Degree from Northwestern University (Cum Laude) all make Nikki a uniquely well-rounded therapist with a strong interest in continuing education. In addition to her formal education, Nikki apprenticed extensively under her mentor, an established massage therapist commonly hailed as "The Best Massage Therapist in New York City," who has appeared on CNN. Nikki grew up in Westchester (New York) where her father, a nationally-renowned veterinarian and owner of the Rye/Harrison Veterinary Hospital, and her mother, a features editor for Westchester Magazine, currently live with their Labrador Gracie.
